Singapore’s hotels vary greatly from 5-star hotels down to affordable guesthouses catering for budget backpackers. All the major international hotel chains are present in Singapore. When competition is stiff, these hotels often offer large discounts. The majority of finest hotels are concentrated around Orchard Road.
There are also quite a few 4 and 5 star hotels located along the banks of Singapore River. A couple other 4 star hotels are located within walking distance to Chinatown. If you go into the city centre, you’ll find several nice hotels with reasonable rates too.
If you’re on a budget, you should definitely visit Bencolen Street with a handful of more than affordable hostels. It’s by walking distance from Orchard Road. There’s also a fair number of good restaurants on this stretch of the road, some of which are open 24/7.
